John M. Abrahams M.D.- Co-Founder and Board Memeber
Dr. Abrahams completed his undergraduate degree at LeMoyne College in Physics and went on to obtain his Master's of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute. He obtained his medical degree from New York Medical College, completed his surgical internship at New York University Medical Center and residency in Neurological Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Abrahams completed both a spine fellowship and a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute of Medicine and Engineering. He is a partner in Brain and Spine Surgeons of New York, the largest Neurosurgical practice in Westchester County and recently appointed Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery at New York Medical College. Dr. Abrahams has authored over 25 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters.

Weiliam Chen, Ph.D - Co-Founder and Board Member
Dr. Chen received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He obtained his Master’s degree and doctorate in Pharmaceutics from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Dr. Chen served as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and became a member of the research faculty at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is currently a faculty member in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the State University of New York-Stony Brook. Between January, 2000 and February, 2004, in conjunction with his academic appointment, he was also holding a joint appointment as a senior scientist and subsequently as a manager at a startup biomaterial company (Clear Solutions, Inc.). He is currently fully funded as an NIH researcher and also serving on related study sections. Dr. Chen’s research has led to the creation of three (3) pending patents; he has presented at numerous national meetings, reviews for peer-reviewed journals, and has over 25 peer-reviewed publications.

Richard Russo – President & Chief Executive Officer
Richard Russo joined Endomedix in November 2008 as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Russo has more than 34 years of experience in medical devices, tissue products and health services, in the US and in international markets. Mr. Russo has worked for leading health care firms such as American Hospital Supply Corporation, C.R. Bard, American Sterilizer and Electro-Biology as well as early stage companies. Prior to joining Endomedix, Mr. Russo worked for Osteotech, Inc., where he held a number of progressively more responsible positions in the areas of marketing, sales, business development, strategic planning, clinical research and regulatory affairs, and general management. As Executive Vice President & General Manager-International, Mr. Russo planned and led Osteotech’s expansion into international markets and established its international subsidiaries, for which he had P&L responsibility. Mr. Russo was subsequently elected President-International for Osteotech. Mr. Russo earned a B.A. from Boston College and a M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Michael J. Crupain, M.D. - Director of Regulatory and Clinical Affairs
Michael completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University in 2001. While at Duke, he majored in psychology and was a Howard Hughes Neuroscience fellow. Following graduation, he was a Research Coordinator in the Department of Biological Psychiatry at the New York State Psychiatric Institute for several clinical trials. In 2006, Michael obtained his M.D. degree from New York Medical College where he had been elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He next completed two years of a neurosurgical residency at Westchester Medical Center, before joining Endomedix. Michael is the co-author of several peer-reviewed scientific publications and a licensed physician in the state of New York.
