Technology

Endomedix has submitted seven patents to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Most of these patents are method and application patents around the core technology. The Company has developed the first all natural, non-synthetic, non-blood derived tissue sealant. Endomedix has developed a hydrogel that is highly biocompatible and competes with all current biomaterials – collagen, gelatin, fibrin glue, etc on some level or another. The product comes in two forms:

  • Injectable Liquid Hydrogel
  • Lyophilized Foam

In the liquid form, the product is packaged into two separate syringes with individual components of modified dextran in one and modified chitosan in the other with or without hyaluronan. Once mixed, the hydrogel gelates (crosslinks) within 30 – 60 seconds depending on the target tissue temperature, typically 37°C.

Key Features of Endomedix Technology:

  • Hydrogel is a highly stable liquid at room temperature as two independent components
  • Once the hydrogel is mixed, it forms an adhesive and cohesive material that gelates within 30 – 60 seconds depending on the environmental (body) temperature
  • Made from natural materials, not derived from blood products, and highly biocompatible
  • Degrades in 14 – 21 days
  • Manufacturing is done by a subcontracted GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice or ISO compliant) facility and optimized such that total cost is significantly less than the competition (at least 10x)
  • Versatility allows product development to span many markets
  • Excellent for drug delivery (Cancer, Stroke, Pain)
